Contact a Family is the only UK-wide charity providing advice, information and support to the parents of all disabled children - no matter what their disability or health condition. Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome Help (HUSH) is a charitable organisation set up in 1997 following the outbreak of E.coli O157 in Central Scotland (Wishaw) when 20 people died and there were 497 reported cases.

This tragedy brought together families from throughout the U.K. whose lives were affected by the bacterium and HUSH was formed.

The NKF is the only charity in the United Kingdom Run by Kidney Patients for Kidney Patients.

The Federation’s aim throughout the UK is to promote both the best renal medical practice and treatment, and the health of persons suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) or Established Renal Failure (ERF).

The NKF also supports the related needs of those relatives and friends who care for kidney patients.
