On the 12th October The Patients Association published a new report on Shaping independent voice in the Health Bill: seven principles for what comes next.
Drawing on a roundtable with patients, carers, and national, local and community organisations, the report sets out what independent patient voice means, seven principles that future arrangements must meet, and the messages decision-makers need to hear to ensure patients can influence decisions and see meaningful change.
As the Health Bill progresses through Parliament, The Patients Association are calling for stronger protections for independent patient voice, including safeguards for independence, clear legal powers and proper accountability.
